When you draw, it reads three things at once: what the card itself carries, whether it fell upright or reversed, and the position it landed in within your spread. Asking the oracle a better question
A tarot reading is only as useful as what you bring to it, and the difference between a vague reading and a piercing one is almost always the question. Three things help.
Ask about your own position, not someone else's. "What does he think of me" asks the cards to read a mind they cannot see. "What am I not admitting about this connection" asks about the one person the reading can actually reach — and tends to be the question underneath anyway.
Prefer open questions to closed ones. "Will I get the job" invites a yes or a no and stops there. "What should I understand about this opportunity" gives the oracle room to say something you had not already considered. If you genuinely want a verdict, the Yes or No Tarot exists for exactly that, and it is free.
Name the specifics. The oracle reads your question literally, so "should I move cities for this relationship when my work is finally going well" produces a far sharper reading than "what's next for me". Detail is not clutter here; it is what the cards are read against.
Upright and reversed cards
Every card you draw can land upright or reversed, and roughly a third of them will fall reversed. A reversed card is not simply a bad card. More often it is the same energy turned inward, held back, or on its way out — The Tower upright is sudden upheaval, while The Tower reversed can be a collapse you managed to avert, or one you are still bracing against.
